TEMPUS FUGIT ( time flys)

TIME!!

Can I get everything done I want to do?

Be that gardening, writing or cooking, hobby or your business it often comes up in our thoughts.

A dilemma of being a creative is, on the one hand, you have no shortage of ideas.

On the other hand, you may have so many ideas you can’t complete them all in a 1,001 lifetimes.

You can end up on a never-ending hamster wheel of “to-dos” that just keeps going and going into infinity.

It reminds me of the Pink Floyd song Time. You’re chasing the sun but it keeps sinking, only to come up behind you again.

So what’s the solution?

Well, I’d be lying if I said I don’t feel a tinge of overwhelm about 97.8% of the time.

My list of potential projects goes on for ages. And it just keeps getting longer.

What I can offer is a shift in thinking that’s helped me.

Recognize “time” (or more specifically a ‘lack of time’) isn’t the problem.

If anything, less time is a BLESSING.

You see, when you have less time, you’re forced to prioritize. And prioritization is the cure for overload.

Now I’m guessing there’s someone reading this thinking…

“Well thanks Captain Obvious. I know I need to prioritize. My problem is I don’t know WHAT to prioritize!”

Fair enough. And there’s no way I’m gonna be able to sort this all out for you in a single email. This is why coaching is so important to help you prioritize what you need to focus on right now.

However, you can get started with this shift in thinking…

Constraints = Good

Like Dr. Seuss who limited himself to 50 words and wrote the book Green Eggs and Ham. By forcing a constraint upon himself, Dr. Seuss created one of the most popular children’s books in history.

A lack of time can help you be more flexible in how you work.

This article is from James Clear.

It’s a quick read on why constraints, such as less time, BENEFIT you.
