Have you ever had a chance to daydream?
As a child, I was described as a “dreamer”, and despite this conjuring up a picture of inactivity and softness, I always dreamed of becoming a ballet dancer.
As a young adult, I became the ballet dancer I had always wanted to be.
In the dance world, you usually go to an audition to find work.
Once I did not have to go to an audition, as the balletmaster from the Stadttheater Kiel, Northern Germany came to watch a class at my dance school in London.
Afterward, I was asked if I would like to join the company in Kiel.
As you can imagine, I was over the moon with delight!
So, with the blessing of my great teacher, Andrew Hardie, I was transported into another world!
Many years later, this feeling of being very pleased with what had happened to me, inspired the title of my short story series.
TALES FROM OVER THE MOON
May I introduce you to the main characters:
Busy Miss Hoover
Harold, the extremely loud cleaning machine,
Molly Mop and Bucket, Stick Players extraordinaire,
Kassuku, the African Grey Parrot
Two Brown Hens, Inflatable and Tumbleweed.
The Fiddler, known as Tif, the Irish Fiddler,
Harvey, a young boy with Down’s syndrome.
Busy Miss Hoover’s Thinking Hat.
Busy Miss Hoover’s thinking hat, whenever she put it on, allowed her to relax, step away from the day’s often busy thoughts, and do a bit of daydreaming. She always felt better afterwards.
It cleared her mind so that she could answer her own questions and she knew what was the next best thing to do if she had to sort out a problem.
The thinking hat wasn’t all about finding solutions, it was also worn to remind the wearers that they could have whatever they wanted.
Most of her friends that lived on Over The Moon had a thinking hat, but not all.
Happy Reading
